Implant

Dental implants in Hounslow

Dental implants replace missing teeth by supporting a crown, bridge or denture. Treatment planning starts with a clinical assessment and appropriate imaging. Suitability depends on factors such as gum health, available bone, medical history, smoking and your individual treatment goals.

How long does implant treatment take?

Implant care is usually completed in stages. Healing and integration with the jawbone often take several months, although the exact sequence varies and additional procedures such as bone grafting may extend the timeline.

  • One implant may support a crown; multiple implants can support a bridge or some dentures.
  • Not every patient needs bone grafting or a sinus lift.
  • Long-term maintenance includes effective daily cleaning and regular professional reviews.

FAQs

What is the success rate of dental implants at DentEuropa Hounslow?

Dental implant outcomes vary according to factors such as general health, gum health, bone support, smoking, oral hygiene and maintenance. With effective daily cleaning and regular professional reviews, implants can function for many years, but no treatment can be guaranteed for life.

How do I know if I need implantitis treatment in Hounslow?

If you're experiencing pain, swelling, gum bleeding, or loose implants, you may need implantitis treatment. Our team in Hounslow can assess the condition and offer laser-assisted solutions to control infection and save your implant.

Is laser treatment for dental implants painful?

Laser-assisted treatment may be suitable in selected cases. The experience and recovery vary by procedure and patient; your dentist will explain expected discomfort, potential benefits, limitations and alternatives.

What makes full mouth implant treatment different from regular implants?

Full mouth implant treatment involves placing multiple implants to support a full arch of fixed teeth. It's ideal for patients missing most or all of their teeth and offers better stability than removable dentures.

How long does the dental implants treatment process take?

The treatment timeline can vary depending on your oral health and whether bone grafting is needed. On average, the full process — from consultation to final crown placement — can take 3 to 6 months.

Can I get a smile makeover with dental implants in Hounslow?

Yes! Our smile makeover service combines dental implants with cosmetic treatments to improve both function and appearance. It's perfect for patients who want a complete transformation after tooth loss.

What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a small titanium post that is placed in the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. Once healed, it provides a stable foundation for a crown, bridge or denture. Because the implant integrates with your own bone, it looks, feels and functions much like a natural tooth. Unlike traditional bridges, implants do not rely on neighbouring teeth for support, and they help preserve the jawbone and your natural facial structure.

The Implant Treatment Process - Step by Step

1. Implant placement

The implant is placed in the jawbone under local anaesthetic in a sterile environment, so you should not feel pain during the procedure. Mild post-operative discomfort usually settles within a few days with simple pain relief. In straightforward cases this stage is completed in a single visit.

2. Healing (osseointegration)

Over the following three to six months the implant fuses with the surrounding bone. During the early healing period we recommend soft foods and careful oral hygiene to protect the implant site.

3. Fitting your new teeth

Once healing is complete, a connector (abutment) is attached and impressions are taken. Your final crown, bridge or denture is custom-made in a dental laboratory and fitted, with adjustments to ensure a precise, comfortable bite.

Options for Missing Teeth

  • Single implant with crown - replaces one missing tooth without touching the neighbouring teeth.
  • Implant-supported bridges - a fixed alternative to removable partial dentures.
  • Full-arch fixed bridges - a complete arch of new teeth supported by a small number of implants.
  • Implant-retained dentures - dentures that click securely onto implants, so they no longer slip while eating or speaking.

Bone Grafting

Successful implant placement requires enough healthy bone. If bone has been lost through gum disease, tooth loss or natural resorption, a bone graft can rebuild the area using safe, biocompatible materials. Your dentist will tell you at the planning stage whether grafting is needed; it can often be carried out at the same time as implant placement.

Suitability, Risks and Alternatives

Most healthy adults with good oral hygiene, healthy gums and sufficient jawbone are suitable for implants. Factors such as smoking, uncontrolled diabetes or untreated gum disease can affect healing and success, which is why every patient has a full assessment before treatment.

As with any surgical procedure, there are some risks - including infection, the implant failing to integrate and, rarely, nerve irritation. Complication rates are low, and your dentist will explain the risks that apply to your individual case before you decide.

Implants are not the only option: depending on your situation, a conventional bridge or a well-fitted denture may also be suitable. We will always explain the advantages and limitations of each option so you can make an informed choice.

Caring for Your Implants

Look after implants just as you would your natural teeth: brush twice a day, clean between the teeth daily, and attend regular check-ups and hygienist visits. With good oral hygiene and routine dental care, implants can last for many years - often decades.

Quality and Safety at DentEuropa

At our Hounslow clinic, implants are placed under strict sterile conditions using proven, premium German-made implant systems. Treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic by clinicians experienced in implant dentistry, and every stage - from planning to aftercare - follows current UK clinical standards.
