Professional profile
Dr Betül Karagil qualified in dentistry at Istanbul University in 2002. She then completed a four-year full-time clinical and research programme in Periodontology and was awarded a PhD in Periodontology (TUR). She later completed an MSc in Periodontology at UCL in London.
Her research examined the clinical use of allograft bone materials in the treatment of intrabony defects in patients with periodontitis.
Dr Betül’s education and clinical experience support the diagnosis, case management and treatment planning of multidisciplinary cases. She works closely with referring dentists to provide personalised periodontal care and keeps her knowledge current by attending national and international periodontal conferences.
Her clinical interests include surgical and non-surgical periodontal treatment, regenerative procedures, soft- and hard-tissue grafting, crown lengthening, aesthetic periodontal surgery and the surgical and non-surgical treatment of peri-implantitis. She has completed more than 150 periodontal surgical procedures.
